Biography

Born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Rudy Currence made his debut under the name Rudy in the late 1990s, with the minor hit "Do It Like Us" (1999), followed by "Believe Me", included on the soundtrack to the# 2000 film Bourne Identity. A contemporary R&B singer tinged with rap, he continued under his full name, releasing the album More Than You'll Ever Know in 2003 and placing another track on a soundtrack, "Cry Wolf" for The Urban Griot: Cold Blooded. After a follow-up in 2006 with the album Here with You, he doesn't return until 2016 with the confidential Digital Analog and a gospel chart-topper, "Testimony". In 2020, "#Hope " includes a remix version performed with David Banner and "I Belong Here" enters the charts, as does the duet "No Greater Love" with Chrisette Michele in 2022. These two singles heralded the Stained Glass Window album, released in 2023 with another hit entitled "Ransom". A new chart-topping single, "God Don't Cancel Me", is released in 2024.
