Biography

Born Lisa Clarise Page in Detroit, Michigan, on November 23, 1962, and known by her stage name Lisa Page Brooks, the contemporary gospel singer was a member of the group Witness. Active from 1986 to 2006, Witness enjoyed a string of successes, winning a Stellar Award in 1993. Lisa Page Brooks was the only member until the group split up, while her sister Tina Brooks remained until 1991. After ten albums and a Grammy Award nomination, she put her experience to good use in a solo career already begun in 1997 with the album More Than You'll Ever Know and followed up with Lisa Page Brooks in 2001. In 2009, Strong is the first post-Witness solo album. Buoyed by a wave of nostalgia, it charted on Billboard's gospel charts, reaching number 18. Similar success awaited the following album Ready (2013), which reached No. 17. Lisa Page was married to Michael Alan Brooks, a pastor who was also a member of Witness's rival men's group, Commissioned, who died in 2024. Their daughter Tasha Page-Lockhart has also embarked on a career as a gospel singer.
