Biography

Bastard Noise, an American noise band, was founded in 1991 by Eric Wood, Henry Barnes, and W. T. Nelson. The group emerged as a sister project to Man Is the Bastard, another band featuring the same musicians. Early recordings from Bastard Noise were predominantly self-released and featured only electronics and vocals. The project has released music through various underground labels such as Three One G, Relapse Records, Gravity Records, Deep Six, Vermiform Records, and Robotic Empire. Over time, Bastard Noise incorporated additional instruments such as bass guitar and drum kit into their sound. The band has also collaborated with notable artists including Merzbow, Justin Pearson, Keiji Haino, and Saira Huff during live performances.
