Biography

The Scream was an American hard rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1989. Developed from the group Angora, the band was founded by singer and guitarist John Corabi, former Racer X guitarist Bruce Bouillet, bassist John Alderete, and drummer Scott Travis under the name Saints or Sinners. After Travis departed to join Judas Priest, drummer Walt Woodward III, who died on June 8, 2010, replaced him, and the group renamed itself The Scream. The band signed with Hollywood Records, releasing the debut studio album Let It Scream (1991), which was produced by Eddie Kramer and featured the single “I Believe in Me”. In 1992, the group contributed the song “Young and Dumb” to the Encino Man film soundtrack. Corabi left the band in February 1992 to join Mötley Crüe and was replaced by singer Bill Fogarty. The band recorded an album titled Takin' it to The Next Level, but it remained unreleased after Hollywood Records terminated their contract, leading to the band's dissolution in 1993. A cover of the song “New York Groove” was later recorded by Fogarty, Bouillet, and Alderete for the 1996 tribute album Spacewalk - A Salute to Ace Frehley and Kiss, and Corabi released the live album Screamin' Live 1992 in 2006.
