76% Uncertain was a hardcore punk group from Bridgeport, Connecticut. Formed in 1983 by former members of Reflex from Pain and C.I.A., the band's name was chosen arbitrarily due to internal disagreements. Their first two albums, Estimated Monkey Time (1984) and Nothing But Love Songs (1985), were released on their own label, Shmegma Records. The band frequently performed in New York City, establishing connections with the local hardcore scene. In 1989 they began performing with three guitarists. In 1990, they released their fourth album, Where's the Lid?, before disbanding that same year. In 1994, Flex! Records reissued Where's the Lid? along with a compilation titled Are You Uncertain?. The band reunited for benefit concerts in 2002 and has since performed sporadically in Connecticut and New York.
