Biography
Slap of Reality, a hardcore punk group from Tampa, Florida, was formed in late 1987. The band released their first EP, Stuck Inside, in 1989. Slap of Reality played alongside notable acts such as 7 Seconds and Fugazi, building a strong following. Kevin Seconds of 7 Seconds signed them to his label Pazzafist Records, followed by an agreement with Headhunter Records. The group released their debut album Three Lefts Make A Right in 1991. After disbanding in 1992, Slap of Reality reformed in 1995 due to interest from Elektra Records and moved to New York before splitting again in 1996. They released the singles "Never Far" in 2018 and "A Part Of" in 2019, and an EP titled Gaslight in the same year under A Jam Records.
