Biography

Villanelle is a British band led by Gene Gallagher (vocals, guitar), known as the son of Liam Gallagher and Nicole Appleton. Formed in 2023, he is joined by guitarist Ben Taylor and bassist Jack Schiavo. More influenced by 1990s grunge than Britpop, Villanelle released their first single "Hinge " in September 2025, followed by "Measly Means" in November and "Placebo" in February 2026. In May 2026, the band releases the Measly Means EP, which reaches No. 13 in the UK independent album charts.
