Violet Maye Grohl, born 15â¯Aprilâ¯2006 in Losâ¯Angeles, California, is an American singer and guitarist who first entered the public eye as the eldest daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and director Jordyn Blum. Her early background includes growing up in Losâ¯Angeles alongside her sisters Harper and Ophelia, and an initial professional appearance at age twelve during a benefit concert at the Fox Oakland Theatre, where she performed "When We Were Young" with her father. The breakthrough moment in Violetâs career came in 2021 with the release of the single "Nausea" and a cover of "Take the Box" on the Hanukkah Sessions, followed by backing vocals on Foo Fightersâ "Making a Fire" in 2020. In 2023 she was featured on Foo Fightersâ single "Show Me How" and appeared with the band at the Glastonbury Festival under the pseudonym the ChurnUps. The following year, on 30â¯Januaryâ¯2025, she joined the surviving members of Nirvana for a surprise set, singing the final song "All Apologies". In 2026, Violet Grohl released the single, "THUM" furthering her position in alternative rock.
