False Advertising, a UK-based alternative rock group from Manchester and Oxford, England, was formed in 2013 by Jen Hingley and Chris Warr, with Josh Sellers joining in 2014. The band's debut single "Dozer" and self-titled album False Advertising were released in 2015. They gained attention for their live instrument swapping and performed at festivals like Two Thousand Trees Festival, SXSW, and Kendal Calling. In 2018, they curated their own festival, Falsetival, in Manchester and received the PRS for Music Momentum Fund. The band released several albums including Belligerent (2018) and Brainfreeze (2019), and EPs such as Brainless (2016) and I Would Be So Much Happier if I Just Stopped Caring (2017). In December 2024, founding member Chris Warr left the group. False Advertising returned in 2026 as a duo with their fourth album The Sorry Window.
