Biography
Rotersand is a German electronic music group formed in September 2002 in Gelsenkirchen by vocalist Rascal Nikov and producer Gunther Gerl, with DJ and producer Krischan Jan-Eric Wesenberg joining shortly after. Their debut release was the EP Merging Oceans (2003), which reached number 8 on the German Alternative Charts and number 72 on the DAC Top Singles of 2003. The group's studio albums include Truth Is Fanatic (2003), Welcome to Goodbye (2005), 1023 (2007), Random Is Resistance (2009), Truth Is Fanatic Again (2014), Capitalism⢠(2016), How Do You Feel Today? (2020), and Don't Become the Thing You Hated (2025). The album Welcome to Goodbye and the single âExterminate Annihilate Destroyâ (2005) both reached Number 1 on the German Alternative Charts. The group toured Europe with Assemblage 23 and VNV Nation, and toured Europe and the United States with Covenant. Although health issues of the lead singer led to the cancellation of several live performances, the group released the single âHigher Roundâ in 2023.
