Mari Mizutani (born July 18, 1971 in Tsushima City, Aichi Prefecture) is a Japanese former pop/song singer active in the late 1980s, She made her debut on March 21, 1986 with the single "Love Me to the 21st Century". Since then, she has had a series of hit songs, including "Chichi-ita Tenshi" (1986), "Otome Biyori" (1986), "Haru ga Kita" (1987), "Pokichi Pokichi Pakichi" (1987), and "Bakansu no Arashi" (1987), several of which reached the Oricon Best 10 singles list. She also released original albums "Nakayoshi" (1986), "Hogaraka" (1987), and "Ashita no Kiiro wo Tsubetai" (1987). She won awards as a newcomer and at various music festivals, and gained high popularity as an idol singer. She retired from show business in 1990.
