Marina Watanabe, born on November 18, 1970, in Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese singer and TV personality. She began her career in music in 1986 when she joined the pop group Onyanko Club under the number "36". She quickly became one of the group's most popular members and made a parallel solo debut with the single "Shin Koukyuu Shite" at the end of 1986. Following her early successes, Watanabe released several singles and albums that showcased her versatile talents: MARINA (1987), which included hit tracks like âWhite Rabbit kara no Messageâ and EVERGREEN, both released in 1987. Her solo career flourished with the release of notable songs such as "Natsu no Tanpen" (1988) ,"Mitsumete Agetai" (1988) and a series of albums including MISS (1989) which contained the song "Calendar". After Onyanko Club disbanded in 1987, she continued her solo career releasing numerous discs over the next decade. Some of her notable singles include "Mitsumete Agetai" (1988), "Natsu no Tanpen" (1988) and "Calendar" (1989). Watanabe also ventured into acting appearing in dramas like Kangofu Akademi- on Fuji TV in 1987. In addition to her music and acting career, she has authored books on fashion and travel and hosted television programs including Tokimekizakari (Fuji TV 1988), Shinkon Monogatari (NTV 1988) and Yo nimo Kimyouna Monogatari.
