Funker Vogt is a German electronic-industrial music project from Hamelin, Lower Saxony, formed in 1995 by vocalist Jens Kästel and programmer Gerrit Thomas. Their name translates to "Radio Operator Vogt," inspired by a friend who was a military radio operator. They released their debut album Thanks for Nothing (1996), followed by the EPs Words of Power (1997) and Take Care (1997). They signed with Metropolis Records, which re-released Thanks for Nothing and issued We Came to Kill (1997). Their lyrics often revolve around themes of war and social injustice. In 2000, they released the album Maschine Zeit (2000), followed by the remix EP T (2000). They completed their Hero Trilogy with the promotional singles "Tragic Hero" (1998), "Fallen Hero" (2005), and "Arising Hero" (2010), which appeared on the albums Execution Tracks (1998), Navigator (2005), and Blutzoll (2010), respectively. They ceased activities in 2021 due to the termination of cooperation with Chris L. They announced their return in 2023, and Bastian Polak joined as their new lead vocalist to release the album Final Construct (2024). Their other notable albums include Survivor (2002), Aviator (2007), Companion in Crime (2013), Code of Conduct (2017), Wastelands (2018), and Element 115 (2021).
