Biography
Asinhell is a Danish death metal band formed in 2023 by Michael Poulsen, who had previously been the vocalist and guitarist of Volbeat. Poulsen's interest in returning to death metal was sparked during the COVID-19 pandemic when he wrote some riffs that he intended for another project. Initially planning to name the band Full of Hell, Poulsen changed it to Asinhell after discovering an existing band with the same name. The lineup included Morten Toft Hansen on drums and Marc Grewe as vocalist, with Jacob Hansen producing their debut album Impii Hora, released on September 29, 2023. The album notably reached number 45 in Germany and number 63 in Switzerland album charts. In summer 2024, Asinhell embarked on a European tour with Endseeker as the opening act, performing at major festivals such as Metal Frenzy, Rock am Ring, and Hellfest.
