Biography

1914, a Ukrainian death metal band from Lviv, was formed in 2014 to mark the centenary of World War I. Their debut single "Caught in the Crossfire" was released in October 2014, followed by their first album Eschatology of War in December 2015. In November 2016, they released a compilation titled Für Kaiser, Volk und Vaterland. Their second full-length album, The Blind Leading the Blind, was released on November 11, 2018, at 11:11 AM, marking the centenary of the end of World War I. The album featured guest musician David Ingram and a cover of "Beat the Bastards" by The Exploited. Their subsequent album, Where Fear and Weapons Meet, was released on October 22, 2021, featuring guest vocals from Nick Holmes of Paradise Lost on the track "...and a Cross now marks his Place". Following the live recording Live@Electric Meadow 2015, released in June 2022, the band recorded their fifth studio album, Viribus Unitis, released on November 14, 2025.
