Baest, a Danish death metal band formed in 2015 in Aarhus, initially spelled Bæst, which means "beast" or "brute" in Danish. Composed of singer Simon Olsen, guitarists Svend Karlsson and Lasse Revsbech, bassist Mattias Melchiorsen and drummer Sebastian Abildsten, the group's early releases included the EP Marie Magdalene and the single "Demo" in 2016. In March 2018, Baest signed with Century Media Records, marking a significant breakthrough in their career. Their debut album Danse Macabre was released later that year, followed by Venenum in 2019, Necro Sapiens in 2021 and the EP Justitia in 2022. In August 2025, the band released their fourth full-length, Colossal.
