Category 7, an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California in early 2023, consists of John Bush from Anthrax and Armored Saint on vocals, Phil Demmel from Machine Head on lead guitar, Mike Orlando from Adrenaline Mob on rhythm guitar, Jack Gibson from Exodus on bass, and Jason Bittner from Shadows Fall and Overkill on drums. The supergroup was assembled after the members collaborated informally, leading to the formation of Category 7, named after the numerical designation for the most powerful wind storms. On May 2, 2024, they released their debut single "In Stitches" from their upcoming self-titled album Category 7, which was released on July 26, 2024. The band signed to Metal Blade Records and released another notable single "Mousetrap" with an official music video on July 2, 2024.
