Biography

Orbit Culture, a Swedish melodic death/groove metal band from Eksjö, was formed in 2013 by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Niklas Karlsson and former lead guitarist Maximilian Zinsmeister. Their debut EP Odyssey was released in December 2013, followed by their first full-length album In Medias Res in July 2014. After lineup changes, including the departures of Zinsmeister and bassist Christoffer Olsson respectively replaced by Richard Hansson and Fredrik Lennartsson, Orbit Culture gained traction with releases like the album Rasen (March 2016) and the EP Redfog (April 2018). Their single "Saw" from Redfog achieved over a million listens on streaming platforms. In 219, drummer Christopher Wallerstedt replaced Markus Bladh for the recording of the third full-length Nija, issued in August 2020. The band released their third EP Shaman in September 2021. Orbit Culture's fourth studio album Descent was released in August 2023 and received critical acclaim. The band followed up with the EP The Forgotten in December 2023. In 2025 followed five singles before the release of the fifth studio album Death Above Life that October.
