Biography
Youbet is an American indie rock project led by Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer Nick Llobet, who grew up in South Florida and later relocated to New York from Denver in 2013. Llobet started performing as youbet after moving into New Yorkâs independent music scene, shaping the project around guitar-led songwriting, home recording and off-kilter pop structures. In 2020, Youbet released the debut album Compare & Despair through Ba Da Bing Records; the record was written by Llobet and performed with Julian Fader, Adam Brisbin, Katie Von Schleicher and Daniel Siles, with songs including âBite,â âVolcano,â âNice Tryâ and âAlligator Talk.â In 2023, Youbet signed to Hardly Art and returned with âCarsick,â the first single from the projectâs second album. Way To Be followed in 2024, written and produced by Llobet, mixed by Adam Brisbin and mastered by Amar Lal. The album included âCarsick,â âNurture,â âSeeds of Evil,â âVacancyâ and âPeel,â and was supported by a 2024 tour with a live line-up featuring Llobet, bassist Micah Prussack and drummer Joanna Quinn. In 2025, Youbet released âDeny.â By 2026, the project had expanded into a closer collaboration between Llobet and Prussack, with the self-titled album Youbet appearing on May 1, previewed by âGround Kiss,â âUndefined,â âReceiveâ and âSee Thru.â
