Biography

Formed in Brooklyn in 2006 around singer, guitarist and composer Peter Silberman (also harmonica player, harpist, accordionist and keyboardist), The Antlers are an American indie rock band renowned for their melancholy universe, atmospheric sounds and the emotional depth of their lyrics. Initially Silberman's solo project, the band took shape with the arrival of multi-instrumentalist Darby Cicci and drummer Michael Lerner, developing a style blending indie rock, dream pop, ambient and folk. Their album Hospice (2009), a tragic concept about loss and suffering, won them international critical acclaim, followed by Burst Apart (2011) and Familiars (2014), which confirmed their talent for ethereal arrangements and introspective atmospheres. After a break due to Silberman's hearing problems, the band returns as a duo without Cicci for Green to Gold (2021), followed four years later by Blight (2025).
