Biography
American folk-rock trio from Denver, Colorado, The Lumineers was formed in the early 2000s. It comprises Jeremiah Fraites (drums) and Wesley Keith Schultz (vocals, guitar). It wasn't until 2009, however, that they released their first EP, followed by 2012's homonymous debut album (No. 2), which brought the band international attention, notably with the single "Ho Hey" (No. 3), used in Michel Gondry's film L'Ãcume des jours . The trio's second album, Cleopatra, is released in 2016 and reaches No. 1 in the United States. Two years later, pianist and cellist Neyla Pekarek, who has been with the trio since 2010, embarks on a solo career. In 2019, Jeremiah Fraites and Wesley Keith Schultz recorded their third opus as a duo, aptly named III, which reached #2 in the US charts. But this number, "3", refers above all to the fictional story developed in this record, that of the Sparks family, broken down into three acts, each featuring a character. In early 2022, the band released their fourth studio opus, Brightside. Ranked No. 6 in the U.S., it featured the single "Brightside ", which reached No. 64 in Canada. In 2024, they release this recording as Live From Wrigley Field, their first live album. In early 2025, they announce their fifth studio album, Automatic, due February 14, accompanied by the single "Same Old Song".
