Awfultune, real name Layla Eden (born July 2, 1998 in Ithaca, New York), is a singer-songwriter of indie pop, bedroom pop and lo-fi rock. She released her first covers online in 2016, before gaining attention for her first original single, "I Met Sarah in the Bathroom" (2019), which became a viral hit and was certified gold in Canada, totaling tens of millions of listens. She then releases several albums and EPs: Unreleased Demo (2019), Layla (2020), Dear Sarah (2020) and Eden (2022), released via AWAL, with its introspective tone.Eden 's release is accompanied by a comic book telling its story. Faithful to the minimalist spirit of his songs with their varied atmospheres, Awfultune produced the second part of his demos in the EP Unreleased Demos II (2024), followed by Split (2025).
