Biography

Trent Tomlinson, born July 3 1975 in Blytheville, Arkansas, is an American country music singer who grew up in Kennett, Missouri, where his father served as a basketball coach and educator; Trent Tomlinson’s early exposure to performance came through a second-place finish on a Nashville Network talent show during his junior year of high school. After multiple attempts to secure a record deal, Trent Tomlinson signed with Lyric Street Records in 2005 and released the single "Drunker Than Me" in late 2005, which peaked at Number 19 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart; the follow‑up "One Wing in the Fire" reached Number 11, and "Just Might Have Her Radio On" peaked at Number 21, all from his debut album Country Is My Rock issued in January 2006. Trent Tomlinson later joined Lyric Street’s subsidiary Carolwood Records, issuing the EP A Guy Like Me in 2010 and a series of singles including "That's How It Still Oughta Be" and "Angels Like Her" before returning to Lyric Street and departing in March 2010; he continued to release the single "Man Without a Woman" via Skyville Records in 2011. In 2014 he co‑wrote Parmalee’s single "Close Your Eyes", and in 2017 he co‑wrote the RIAA Diamond‑certified hit "In Case You Didn't Know", solidifying his role as a songwriter and performer within the country music industry.
