Jodie Dee Messina is an American country singer. She grew up in Massachusetts and began playing local clubs at 16 before moving to Nashville when she was 19. The album was co-produced by country star Tim McGraw and spawned two hits, 'Heads Carolina, Tails California' and 'You're Not in Kansas Anymore'. Her real breakthrough album came with the radio-friendly empowering country rock of 1998's 'I'm Alright', which contained three number ones in 'Bye Bye', 'I'm Alright' and 'Stand Beside Her' and another big hit in 'Lesson in Leavin''. Her 2000 album 'Burn' became a number one as did the single 'That's the Way'. Another single from the album was the duet with Tim McGraw, 'Bring On the Rain'. Her next release was the Christmas album 'A Joyful Noise' in 2002. In 2005 she released the album 'Delicious Surprise' which contained another fan favourite, 'My Give a Damn's Busted'. Her later works include 'Unmistakeable' (2010) and 'Me', a release on her own label in 2014 and one of her most personal albums. She announced that she had cancer in 2017 but continued to tour. In 2018 she released the singles 'Bigger Than This' and 'Reckless Love'.
