Biography

Steve Azar is an American country singer-songwriter born in Mississippi with Lebanese heritage. He learned to play the guitar and played concerts while at university. Moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 1993, he began writing songs and released his debut album 'Heartbreak Town' in 1996. 'Waitin' On Joe' (2002) went to number 29 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart and the track 'I Don't Have to Be Me (Till Monday)' reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Other albums include 'Indianola' (2008), 'Slide On Over Here' (2009), 'Delta Soul: Vol. 1' (2011) and 'Down at the Liquor Store' (2018). Other tracks that reached the Hot 100 include 'You Don't Know a Thing' (2006), 'Moo La Moo' (2009) and 'Sunshine (Everybody Needs a Little)'.
