Biography

Julie Roberts, born Julie Roberts on February 1, 1979, in Lancaster, South Carolina, is an American country music singer. From a young age, she performed in pre-school plays and school choirs, developing her musical skills through various performances and summer camps. Roberts began her professional journey by touring with her family during high school, playing at festivals across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Roberts' career took off when she was signed to Mercury Nashville in 2003. Her debut single "Break Down Here" was released on February 24, 2004, reaching the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. This success led to her self-titled debut album Julie Roberts, which peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in December 2004. Her follow-up album, Men & Mascara, released in June 2006, reached number 4 on the Top Country Albums chart. In 2013, Roberts participated in the Blind Auditions of the fourth season of The Voice but did not qualify for the next rounds. She later released her comeback album Good Wine and Bad Decisions, which charted on both US Country Albums and US Indie Albums charts. Roberts has been open about her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis.
