Biography

The Most Secret Method was an American post-hardcore band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1995. The trio consisted of Johanna Claasen on bass guitar and vocals, Marc Nelson on lead guitar and vocals, and Ryan Nelson on drums. They made their debut at the Black Cat nightclub alongside fellow D.C. band the Capitol City Dusters. In 1997, they released a split EP with the Capitol City Dusters on Superbad Records. The following year, the Most Secret Method released their debut album Get Lovely under Slowdime Records, which featured cover art by Ryan Nelson. The album was produced by Jawbox's guitarist J. Robbins at Arlington's Inner Ear Studios. In 2002, after a period of hiatus, they returned with their second album Our Success on Superbad Records. Following a series of concerts at the Black Cat in August 2002, the band disbanded.
