Biography

The Warmers, an American post-hardcore band from Washington D.C., formed in 1994. The trio consisted of Alec MacKaye on guitar and vocals, Juan Luis Carrera on bass and vocals, and Amy Farina on drums. Their first release was the "Thin Air/Occupation: Fish" 7" single in 1995. In 1996, they released their self-titled debut album under Dischord Records, which received praise for its minimalism and Farina's distinctive drumming style. The band disbanded in 1997. Post-breakup, "Poked It with a Stick" from their debut album was featured on the compilation album 20 Years of Dischord (2002) and an EP entitled Wanted: More, featuring six songs recorded in December 1996, was released in 2004. Farina later formed the Evens and Coriky with Ian MacKaye.
