Biography

Author, composer, musician and performer, Sylvain Duthu is the founder and lead singer of the group Boulevard des Airs. Born in Bagnères-de-Bigorre (Hautes-Pyrénées) on February 20, 1988, he learned piano and drums and composed his first songs at the age of twelve. In 2000, together with Laurent Garnier, whom he had met in his school orchestra, he founded the cover band Oxymore, which was renamed Boulevard des Airs four years later with the arrival of Laurent Dasque. Revealed in 2011 with the album Paris - Buenos Aires, the group won the 2019 Victoire de la Musique award for original song of the year with the track "Je me dis que toi aussi". Sylvain Duthu also collaborates with Julien Clerc, Aldebert, Babylon Circus and Tryo, and writes or composes for Claudio Capéo, Yannick Noah, Les Frangines and Tibz, notably on the latter's album Tout Ce Qu'on Laisse (2021). He is also the author of a play for young people, Quand j'étais petit, j'étais une limace (2018). In 2024, while still a member of Boulevard des Airs, he released his first solo album 15h22, featuring collaborations with the group MPL and singer Julie Prouha.
