Biography
Albin De La Simone, son of a trumpeter born in Amiens on December 14, 1970, is a French songwriter, composer, singer and instrumentalist. After collaborating with some of the biggest names in French variety (including Alain Souchon and Vanessa Paradis), he recorded his homonymous debut album in 2003, which established him as one of the new generation of French chanson à texte. The next two albums, Je Vais Changer (2005) and Bungalow ! (2008), helped establish a personal climate of musical richness and a particularly original palette. His beautifully crafted songs, with their mix of pop and rock influences, are again featured on his fourth collection, Un Homme, released in 2013. Albin de la Simone continues to compose and polish the intimate songs on his albums L'Un de Nous, (2017) and Happy End (2021). After collaborating in his early career on projects such as Le Soldat Rose in 2006 and The Wantones in 2008, he joined the group that produced the collective album Les Siestes Acoustiques (2022), in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. He then returned to his solo career with the collections Les Cent Prochaines Années (2023), produced with multi-instrumentalist Sage, and Toi Là -Bas (2025), on which he covers Johnny Hallyday's "Ma gueule".
