Biography

A French all-female duo made up of Anne Coste and Jacinthe Madelin, Les Frangines play guitar and sing in a style that brings together French chanson, pop and acoustic folk. Self-taught, they promote their original compositions through social networks and concerts. Upon its release in 2017, the first EP of these singers and travelers, Vagabondes, was a success of esteem without entering the best sellers, but increased their notoriety with songs like "Mon bagage", "Si j'osais" or "Le Cri d'Alep", whose videos accumulated millions of views. The duo, who cover Victor Hugo's verses in "Demain dès l'aube", sign with the Jo&Co label for the continuation of a career that brings the song "Donnez-moi", co-written and composed by Vianney, which augurs the first Les Frangines album released on June 21, 2019. Following on from this, the song "Notre-Dame" pays tribute to the Paris cathedral recently disfigured by fire, followed by the album Notes (2022), featuring four live acoustic tracks. Also inspired by poets, "Le Dormeur du val " by Arthur Rimbaud and "Liberté" by Paul Éluard anticipate the release of the third album Poèmes (2024), featuring other texts by Guillaume Apollinaire, Pierre de Ronsard, Rudyard Kipling, Théophile Gautier, Paul Verlaine, Victor Hugo and Simone Veil. This collection of poems set to music ranks 68th in the French rankings.
