Biography
Born in Geneva on December 12, 1968, Yves-Ferdinand Bouvier began writing as a journalist in 1986, publishing several collections of poetry and short stories alongside contributions to literary magazines. In 1995, he began studying linguistics, earning a doctorate in 2002. He composed his first songs and took singing lessons with Annette Charlot, before co-authoring L'Intégrale et cætera (2005), the first annotated edition of Serge Gainsbourg's verse works, and La Rime pratique (2010), the first dictionary of the genre. His first albums published by Ãditions Campioni, Space Hotel (2011), Om à Un Re (2012), Côté Cool - Côté Marin (2013) and Chant Poing (2014), stand out as much for their careful wordplay as for their humor and varied musical register. Other works followed before the production, with different musicians, of Mots Zarbes et Bite au Vent (2016), Monsieur Confiture (2017), La Cathédrale dans la Valise (2018) and L'Ãchappée Belle (2019). In 2020, he joined forces with the group Les Garçons for Moulins à Vendre, followed by Coïncidences Morphologiques (2021) and Terre des Femmes (2022). In 2023, the compilation Menu Omnivore - Zest of My Best Days is released.
