Susana Boomhouwer, known professionally as Susana, was born on April 8, 1984, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. She is a Dutch trance singer who began her musical journey with classical vocal training and later sang in a rock band during her youth. At 19, she was introduced to producers Raz Nitzan and Adrian Broekhuyse, leading to her first recording session for Ernesto vs. Bastian's "Dark Side of the Moon" in 2005. Susana's career gained momentum with collaborations on notable tracks such as Armin van Buuren's "Shivers". She released her debut album, Closer, in 2010 under Armada Music. Notable singles include "Frozen" (2010). Susana's work with Aly & Fila, including the track "Unbreakable", was recognized as Tune Of The Year 2016 in Armin van Buurenâs A State of Trance radio show. She also released the single, "Only Summer Knows", in 2017. In 2021, her song "Shivers" was voted the best trance song of all time by listeners of the same show.
