Biography

Shane Thomas Embury, born 27 November 1967 in Broseley, Shropshire, was a British bassist best known for his long tenure with the grindcore band Napalm Death. After playing drums with the early death‑metal outfit Warhammer and recording the 1985 demo Abattoir of Death, he joined Napalm Death in July 1987, replacing Jim Whitely, and appeared on the Scum tour. Over the decades Shane Embury contributed to Napalm Death albums and collaborated with bands like Little Giant Drug, Lock Up, Brujeria, Blood from the Soul, Liquid Graveyard, and Venomous Concept. In 2025, he released his debut solo album, Atonement, followed by a collaboration with Igor Cavalera from Sepultura, credited to Iggor Cavalera, on Neon Gods / Own Your Darkness. In June 2026, Shane Embury released his second solo effort, Bridge to Resolution, featuring the singles "Spasm Prayer"  and "Taurus". He also released the double single "ReConstellation"/ "Astrophiliac."
