Biography

Totenmond, a German metal band from Backnang, was founded in 1984 as "Wermut" by S. P. Senz and Olaf “Pazzer.” Initially a punk band, Totenmond transitioned to metal music after changing their name in 1990. Their first official album, Lichtbringer, was released in 1996 through Massacre Records, followed by tours with bands like Atrocity and In Flames. The band's subsequent albums include Fleischwald (1998), Reich in Rost (2000), and Auf dem Mond ein Feuer (2001). Totenmond gained attention for their unique blend of death metal, doom metal, black metal, and crustcore. They performed at notable festivals such as Wacken Open Air and With Full Force. After releasing Thronräuber in 2008, the band took a hiatus before returning with Der letzte Mond vor dem Beil in 2016.
