Biography
Formed in 2001, heavy metal band Volbeat released their debut album in 2005, The Strength/The Sound/The Songs (No. 18). The success of this first effort was confirmed by Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil in 2007, which gave the band their first No. 1. Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood repeated the performance in 2008. Beyond Hell/Above Heaven (No.1 in 2010) proved a big hit in Scandinavia and Germany (No.3), definitively establishing Volbeat's mainstream metal credentials. Having toured extensively in the U.S., the Danish band reached a new milestone in 2013 with the arrival of guitarist Rob Caggiano and the release of Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies (#1 in Denmark). Three years later, the band set a sixth career milestone with the ebullient Seal the Deal & Let's Boogie (#1), followed in 2018 by the live recording Let's Boogie! Live from Telia Parken (#1 in Denmark). The following year, Volbeat returned with a new album, Rewind, Replay, Rebound (No. 2), the first to feature new bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen. Volbeat followed this up in 2021 with Servant of the Mind, which also reached No. 1 in the local charts. In 2023, after ten years' service, guitarist Rob Caggiano left without being replaced for the next album, God of Angels Trust, recorded as a trio and released in 2025.
