Biography

Doom are a hardcore rock band from Birmingham whose line-up has fluctuated many times since they formed in 1987. They grew out of a band named The Subverters with singer Jon Pickering on bass, Bri Doom on guitar and Jason Hodges on drums. When Hodges left to be succeeded by Mick Harris, they began to perform under the Doom name. They began to tour the UK and in 1988 released their debut album 'War Crimes (Inhuman Beings)'. 'Bury the Debt - Not the Dead' followed in 1989 but Pickering departed and Bri Doom left for a while until they joined up again in 1992 for a tour of Japan and the 1993 album 'The Greatest Invention'. Members came and went as they released EPs until 1996 when Bri Doom, Stick, Chris Gascoigne and singer Wayne Southworth recorded new album 'Rush Hour of the Gods'. Another release, 'World of S**t' came out in 2001, but after Southworth's death in 2005, the band took an extended break. In 2013, Doom toured Canada and put out an album titled 'Corrupt F**king System'. In 2015 they hit the headlines when four fans died as a result of a stampede outside one of their shows in Chile.
