Satomi Fukunaga, born ç¦æ°¸æµè¦ on January 26, 1967, in Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese pop singer. As a child, she often went on walks with her parents and later became involved in surfing during high school. In 1985, Fukunaga appeared on the BishÅjo contest for All Night Fuji High School Girl Special, which led to her joining Onyanko Club, an idol group managed by Bond Planning. She was one of the original members of Onyanko Club and became a lead vocalist for their debut song "Sailor Fuku o Nugasanai de" ("Don't Make Me Take Off My Sailor Suit"). In May 1986, Fukunaga made her solo debut with "Kaze no Invitation", which reached Number 1 on the Oricon chart. She released several successful singles, including "Heart no Ignition" and "Bokutachi no Runaway". Her album SPLASH was released in November 1986, followed by Sambo in July 1987. Fukunaga also starred in various idol dramas and played the role of Leia in the TV series Sukeban Deka III. In September 1988, she published a guidebook on South Korea titled A book to read on the plane to Seoul. Fukunaga retired from the entertainment industry in November 1988 due to health reasons and later became an office worker. She married in 1994 and entered the 2010s as a director of the entertainment agency Office Nisshin.
