Yui Asaka, born Aki Kawasaki on December 4, 1969, in Miyazaki, Japan, is a singer and actress. She began her career as an idol in 1985 with the release of her debut single "å¤å°å¥³" ("Natsu Shôjo"). Her breakthrough came in 1987 when she starred in the third series of the popular manga adaptation Sukeban Deka, following Yuki Saito and Yoko Minamino. Her acting role significantly boosted her music career, leading to a series of successful albums including Crystal Eyes (1986), Star Lights (1987), and Rainbow (1987). Notable singles from this period include "ç³ã«STORM" ("Hitomi ni Storm") and "è¹ã®Dreamer" ("Niji no Dreamer").
