Biography

John Gosling, born October 16, 1963, in Brighton, United Kingdom, is an English electronic musician best known by the stage name Mekon. Early in his career, he co‑founded Zos Kia and Psychic TV, later collaborating with Coil on Transparent and producing for Bass‑o‑Matic alongside William Orbit. Mekon’s breakthrough came with the single "Phatty's Lunch Box" followed by "Revenge of the Mekon", which featured gangster Frankie Fraser and marked his entry into the big‑beat scene. In 2006, he released the album Something Came Up, an effort that attracted attention for its artwork by Alexander McQueen. His remix of "Can't Get Enough" by Infadels appeared on the FIFA 07 soundtrack, while "What's Going On" was included in the PlayStation 2 game ATV Offroad Fury 2 and the video game Amplitude. Throughout the 2000s, Mekon continued to issue singles such as "Boy Bitten / Blood On The Moon" (2006) and "Presents Bin Therre" (2013), featuring Pig.
