Biography

Leonard (born January 3, 1964 in Seedorf, Uri, Switzerland) is a pop singer, presenter and songwriter from Switzerland. The artist, born Carlo Schenker, moves stylistically between pop and pop music. His musical career began in 1985 with the self-produced single "Einfach davon träumen". Leonard landed his first major hit in 1989 with the song "Voulez-vous danser". The singer subsequently received invitations to appear on various TV shows. This increased his fame. In 1996, Leonard entered the German charts with the single "Ein kleines Lied". In 1997 and 1998, the singer took part in the German Schlager Festival and the Grand Prix des Schlagers. Leonard achieved top places in both competitions. At the end of the 1990s and beginning of the 2000s, the singer also tried his hand as a TV presenter on Swiss television. In his long career, the singer has released over 20 albums. His most successful albums include Träume sind immer dabei (1998, number 48 in Switzerland), Hautnah (2006, number 93 in Switzerland), Die Jahre hinter mir (2010, number 90 in Switzerland), Noch lange nicht alles (2014, number 87 in Switzerland), Lerne im Regen tanzen (2018, number 33 in Switzerland) and Lachen und weinen (2021, number 29 in Switzerland). Leonard returned in 2024 with the album Es gibt noch Wunder.
