Jörg Bausch, born 5â¯Marchâ¯1973 in Essen, Germany, is a German Schlager singer, lyricist, and composer. After completing schooling at the BischofâvonâKettelerâSchule and training as a butcher, he worked as a truck driver and stage builder before performing at local festivals in North RhineâWestphalia. His breakthrough came with the 2000 single "Wetten dass...", which attracted attention in the popâschlager scene. Bausch released his debut album Lust am Leben on 14â¯Aprilâ¯2005, followed by Unglaublich on 21â¯Augustâ¯2006, featuring singles "Dieser Flug" and "Wie ein Wolf in der Nacht". Signing with Gloriella Music under Sony Music, he produced Denn ich fliege (2008), Tornado (18â¯Septemberâ¯2009) and Starkstrom (â¯Octoberâ¯); the 2008 album peaked at number 63 in the German charts. In 2012 he joined EMI Music and released Kopfkino (2â¯Marchâ¯2012) and a live DVD, reaching number 72. Subsequent releases included Total Verbauscht â Bestâ¯Of (2013), In Bausch und Bogen (6â¯Octoberâ¯2014), Gentleman (2016), and the digitally released 12â¯Farben (2020). Bausch has performed in soldâout shows at the Bochumer Starlight Express Theater and the KönigâPilsenerâArena, founded the labels Bausch Recording and HitâPop Music, and produced works for other schlager artists. His YouTube channel amassed over 10â¯million views by Februaryâ¯2022, and he has received awards such as the BallermannâAwardâ¯2011 for âBest PopâSchlagerâ and the Schlager Saphirâ¯2010 for âBest Live Artist.â
