Biography
The Amigos are a pop pop duo from Germany founded in 1970. At the beginning of their career, the Amigos consisted of four musicians. The band gained a certain amount of regional recognition through regular appearances at events in villages and towns. In the mid-1980s, the Amigos were given the opportunity to record their first album. However, they were not initially successful. In the meantime, the band has shrunk to a duo and consists only of the brothers Karl-Heinz and Bernd Ulrich. It was not until 2004 that the Amigos achieved their first chart entry in Germany (58th place) and Austria (48th place) with the album Ich Steh' Wieder Auf. From then on, the Amigos conquered the Schlager heaven in German-speaking countries. In 2007, the duo achieved their first number 1 success in Germany with Der Helle Wahnsinn. In Austria (No. 2) and Switzerland (No. 8) they also achieved top 10 placings. In the years that followed, the Amigos and their music became stars on the German pop scene. In 2014, the musicians achieved their first number 1 hit in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with the album Sommerträume. The Amigos also achieved number 1 success with the albums Santiago Blue (2015), Wie Ein Feuerwerk (2016), 110 Karat (2018), Tausend Träume (2020), Freiheit (2021) and Liebe siegt (2022). Studio album number 27, Atlantis wird leben, was released in 2023, followed by another album, Stimmen der Nacht, just one year later. The duo returned to the top of the charts in Germany and Austria. In July 2025, the Amigos released another studio album, Lebe jetzt (Live Now). The pop duo also achieved a number 1 success in Germany and Austria.
