Biography

Julia Boutros, born جوليا بطرس on April 1, 1968 in Beirut, Lebanon, is a singer known for her blend of traditional Arabic melodies with modern pop and rock. She began her musical journey at age 12, recording her first song "À Maman" at Elias Rahbani's studio. Boutros gained prominence in the 1980s with hits like "Ghabet Shams El Haq" ("The Sun of Justice Has Gone") and "Wein el Malayeen" ("Where Are the Millions"). Her career includes notable releases such asBisaraha (2001), Ta'awadna Aleik (2006), and Yawman Ma (2012). Boutros has been recognized for her humanitarian efforts, including donating proceeds from "Ahibaii" to families affected by the 2006 Lebanon War. She is also known as "The Lioness of Lebanon" for her vocal support of Lebanese and Palestinian causes through her music.
