Lotfi Bouchnak is a Tunisian singer, oudist, and composer born in Tunisia in 1954. Bouchnak trained with La Rachidia and studied under Ali Sriti. Their career includes collaborations with artists such as Sayed Mekawi and Anouar Brahem. Bouchnak composed songs for Cheb Khaled and IAM and established the studio Midophone. Their repertoire includes traditional malouf, avant-rock, and neo-metal industrial. Notable works include the song âRitek Ma Naâref Ouineâ (1990) from the film Halfaouine, l'enfant des terrasses and the collaboration âEl à in elli matchoufekchiâ with Micheline Khalifa. Bouchnak performed at festivals such as the Festival international de Carthage and the Festival Mawazine.
