Biography

Mohammed Abdu is a Saudi Arabian singer and composer born Mohammed Abdu Othman Al-Aseeri on June 12, 1949, in Abha. He performed on the radio program Baba Abba's at age 12. In the late 1960s, Al-Aseeri traveled to Beirut to record the song “Khassamat Aani Min Sinin” with composer Mohamed Mohsen. He founded the record label Sout El Jezira in 1970. His discography featured recordings such as “Ouaalil kalbi” and “Lana Allah”. During the 1980s, he released recordings including “Horouf Al Ezz” (1987). After a hiatus from 1990 to 1997, he released several recordings, including the studio albums Ramad Al Masabeeh (2017) and Omry Naher (2018). Al-Aseeri performed at the Mawazine festival in Rabat in 2014 and at a public concert in Riyadh in 2017.
