Jerry Holland, born February 23, 1955, in Brockton, Massachusetts, was a Canadian musician and fiddler. He began playing the fiddle at age five and made his television debut on Don Messer's Jubilee in 1962. In his early 20s, Holland moved to Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, performing with the Cape Breton Symphony and appearing regularly on CBC television shows. His first album, Jerry Holland, was released in 1976, followed by Master Cape Breton Fiddler (1982), which established his reputation by pioneering a more modern sound within the Cape Breton tradition. Throughout his career, he released thirteen albums and appeared as a guest musician on over 25 more. Notable works include composing "My Cape Breton Home". Holland passed away from cancer on July 16, 2009.
