Hany Abdel Aziz Mostafa Shaker is an Egyptian singer, actor, and composer born on December 21, 1952, in Cairo. He learned the piano as a child under the supervision of his mother. Shaker performed his first public role in 1966, playing the young lead in the film Sayed Darwish. While studying at the Cairo Conservatoire in 1972, he released the recording âHeloua ya Douniaâ, composed by Mohammed El Mougi. During the 1970s, he performed the tracks âSiboni Ahebâ and âKida Bardo Ya Amarâ. His discography included the studio recordings Baashak Dehketak (1990), Yaretny (1999), and Bahebak Ana (2002). Shaker also released the albums Hany Shaker (2013) and Agla Bashar (2014). He served as the head of Egypt's Musicians Syndicate starting in 2015. In 2017, he received the Order of Palestine for Culture, Science and Arts. His later work included the 2024 studio recording Today is Beautiful.
