Biography
Flux of Pink Indians was an English punk rock band from Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, active between 1980 and 1986. The group was formed by vocalist Colin Latter and bassist Derek Birkett, alongside guitarists Andy Smith and Neil Puncher, and drummer Sid Ation. The band signed with Crass Records in 1981, releasing their debut EP Neu Smell (1981), which featured the song âTube Disastersâ. Their debut studio album, Strive to Survive Causing Least Suffering Possible, was released in 1983 through their own label, Spiderleg Records. Their second album, The Fucking Cunts Treat Us Like Pricks (1984), faced controversy and was banned by several British retailers. After various lineup changes and shortening their name to Flux, they released their third album, Uncarved Block (1986). The group disbanded in 1987. Subsequent compilation releases include Not So Brave (1997) and Live Statement (2002). The band's influence inspired American avant-garde metal group Neurosis and was sampled by rap artist Professor Green on the single âHard Night Outâ.
