Biography
Oi Polloi, an anarcho-punk band from Edinburgh, was formed in 1981. The group initially played hymnic Oi!-punk but later evolved into an anarcho-hardcore punk style. Their early performances included a concert at Stewarts Melville College in late 1981, followed by the release of their first demo Last of the Mohicans. In 1985, they released another demo titled Destroi the System. Their debut EP, Resist The Atomic Menace, was released in 1986. Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, Oi Polloi toured extensively across Europe and North America, releasing albums such as Unlimited Genocide (1986), Mad As Fuck L.P. (1987), and In Defence Of Our Earth (1990). The band became known for their radical environmental activism and support of animal rights. In 2003, they released their first single in Scottish Gaelic, "Carson ?".
